On Sunday (July 23), Yuan Jiajun, a member of the politburo of the Chinese Community Party (CCP), landed in Nepal on a three-day visit and met with President Ramchandra Paudel. According to the statement, Yuan and Paudel spoke about strengthening bilateral ties and advancing mutual interests. He informed the Chinese politburo member, “Nepal and China have remained good neighbours since ancient times,” and said that high-level visits like this will strengthen the many facets of the countries’ bilateral relationship.
PTI reports that Yuan would meet with Purna Bahadur Khadka, the acting prime minister and defense minister, and Narayan Kaji Shrestha, the acting deputy prime minister and chairman of the CPN (Maoist Centre), in Singha Durbar.
