According to Nepali Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, his administration gave the growth of the digital economy and digital services top priority in order to enhance the delivery of services to the general public.
At a digital conference hosted by Huawei Nepal in Kathmandu on Friday, Dahal said that “the government has allocated one percent of the total development budget for innovation and start-up for the next 2023–24 fiscal year.”
Dahal said that the budgeted amount was raised to motivate young people in Nepal to concentrate on innovation and create hardware and software to address domestic requirements.According to the Xinhua news agency, Nepal has also decreased the bar for foreign direct investment in information and communication technology to around $153,000 as opposed to $384,000 for other industries. Dahal emphasized that the administration is putting a lot of effort into enhancing digital governance.
