Beginning on Monday in Dhaka, officials from Nepal and Bangladesh will discuss commencing power trading between the two nations.
Dinesh Ghimire of Nepal and Habibur Rahman of Bangladesh are the respective energy secretaries heading their respective delegations at the conference. The secretary-level meeting, though, will only happen on Tuesday.
Nepal would suggest at the conference that energy generated by the Likhu-4 Hydropower Project be sold to Bangladesh through India. India has previously shown its willingness to let the two nations conduct commerce via its territory.
Additionally, Nepal anticipates Bangladeshi assistance in the development of the Sunkoshi-3 Hydropower Project. The discussion during the conference will probably center on creating a joint venture for the project.
