The Swiss Embassy in Kathmandu gave the Ministry of Health over 20,000 polymerase chain test kits for the reaction, on Friday. The embassy says it is part of support for Nepal by the Swiss government.
Swiss Ambassador to Nepal, Elisabeth von Capeller, today handed the kits to Minister of Health Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal. She said the donation would help Nepal address the increasing need for more PCR tests at the occasion.
The embassy said next month it would donate another 20,000 test kits. It also installs water treatment systems in four hospitals that are involved in the Country’s Covid-19 response and supports the Government of Province 1 in building an isolation centre in Udayapur.
Earlier, the embassy had given Rs 50.42 million worth of medical equipment to Nepal for Covid-19 response.
